Mindfulness Teaching and Training

I lead on Breathworks teacher training retreats and specialise in teaching mindfulness-based interventions with a significant emphasis on compassion/self-compassion. I teach the following mindfulness courses:

  • Mindful Self-Compassion (8 week and Intensive courses)
  • Breathworks Mindfulness for Stress
  • Breathworks Mindfulness for Health
  • Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction
  • Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy

I offer enquiry sessions (in groups or on a one-to-one basis) for mindfulness teachers, meditation practitioners, those wishing to explore their spiritual practice, and those wishing to investigate personal suffering using mindfulness-based enquiry.

I meet the requirements of the Good Practice Guidance for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses published by the UK Network of Mindfulness-Based Teacher Trainers. To view these, go to good practice guidelines

Supervision Experience

I’ve been supervising mindfulness teachers since 2014. I trained to be a supervisor with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (CMRP). I am a supervisor for the Mindfulness-Network CIC and Breathworks CIC.

I supervise people who teach:

  • Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)
  • Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
  • Breathworks Mindfulness for Stress and Mindfulness for Health
  • Mindfulness in the Workplace
  • Students on mindfulness-based training programmes

I am also a supravisor - I supervise supervisors

Personal Practice

I’ve had a personal meditation practice since 2005. My foundational practices are self-compassion and insight-based. My practice is informed by embodied enquiry. I have regularly attended silent meditation retreats over the past 12 years.

I’m interested in ways of applying insights from meditation practice and dharma teachings to situations of social, political, environmental, and economic suffering and injustice. I facilitate ‘The Work That Reconnects,’ Deep Ecology workshops based on the work of Joanna Macy. I write, run, and am happiest in nature.
