Improved Memory, Analytical Skills and Problem Solving

People who meditate make more rational decisions

Scientists tracked people playing the Ultimatum Game (an economics-based game) and found that meditators react angrily half as often as non-meditators when they are on the receiving end of an unfair decision. They activate a different network of brain areas and that enables them to uncouple negative emotional reactions from their behaviour.

People who meditate improve their problem solving skills

In study of 49 participants at the University of North Carolina researchers found that after just four days of training of only 20 minutes per day mindfulness practitioners showed significant improvements in their critical cognitive skills e.g. attention skills, ability to store and recall information, their ability to reason, form concepts, and solve problems, their ability to perform simple or complex cognitive tasks.
